Schedule matches
Set date and time for each match so participants know when to show up and so your event runs on a predictable timeline.
Scheduled match times are surfaced to participants on the player-facing event page in their local timezone. Scheduling also helps your operations team plan staffing, stream slots, and broadcast windows.
Where to find it
Projects → [Your Project] → [Tournament] → Matches (in the Competition section)
Matches is its own item alongside Structure, not a page nested under it. From there:
- List — Matches (the default view)
- Calendar — Matches → Calendar
- Auto-schedule — Matches → Auto-schedule
- Bulk operations — Matches → Bulk operations
Step by step
Manual scheduling
Manual (re)scheduling happens from the Calendar view, not the match detail page — the match detail page only displays the scheduled time as read-only information.
- Navigate to Matches → Calendar.
- Click a match on the calendar to open the Reschedule dialog.
- Set the new date and time, and enter a reason for the change.
- Confirm. The match's scheduled time updates immediately and is reflected to participants.
- Repeat for each match, or use auto-scheduling to generate times for all matches at once.
Auto-scheduling
Auto-scheduling builds a Scheduling Proposal for you to review — it does not reschedule matches immediately.
-
Navigate to Matches → Auto-schedule.
-
Set the scheduling window (start and end date, daily start and end time) and the match duration (how long each match is expected to take).
-
Set Buffer (minutes) — the gap left between consecutive matches, applied tournament-wide (not per stage or per stream).
-
Optionally cap Max matches per day, and turn on Assign streams to have the system also assign stream slots.
-
Click Generate schedule. The system produces a proposal showing a conflict count and a before/after table of every match's current vs. proposed time.
-
Review the proposal, then either:
- Click Approve to accept it, or
- Click Reject and enter a reason.
No match times change until you approve — and approving still isn't the final step. A proposal only takes effect on the participant-facing schedule once it is published from the tournament's scheduling tools; until then it stays an approved-but-unpublished plan.
Bulk operations
Bulk operations affect every scheduled match in the tournament — there is no checkbox-based selection of individual matches.
- Navigate to Matches → Bulk operations.
- Choose the Shift tab to move every scheduled match by a plus-or-minus minutes offset, or the Clear tab to wipe every match's scheduled time.
- Enter the shift amount (Shift) or confirm the warning (Clear), optionally with a reason.
- Confirm. The operation applies to all scheduled matches in the tournament at once — there is no option to shift or clear only a subset.
Resolving scheduling conflicts
The Calendar view also has a Conflicts tab that flags scheduling problems — for example two matches assigned to the same venue, participant, or stream at overlapping times — with a severity level (critical, blocking, warning, info) for each. You can reschedule a conflicting match directly from the conflict list without leaving the tab.
What happens next
Once matches are scheduled, participants can see their match times on the event page. On competition day, use Live operations to monitor which matches are running, pending, or delayed. If a match runs long, your tournament's scheduling tools let you preview and apply a cascading delay so downstream matches shift with it instead of drifting out of sync. You can update match times at any point before a match starts.
