Apply Interventions to a Match
Correct a match result, submit a dispute, or pause the tournament when something goes wrong during live play — and how to roll back a recent intervention from the audit log.
Match interventions let you step in when something goes wrong during play — a reported score is incorrect, a result needs to be recorded manually, or an outcome needs formal review. For problems that affect more than one match, use the tournament-wide pause and delay controls instead. Every intervention is written to the audit log automatically.
Where to find it
Per-match actions live on the match detail page:
Projects → [Project] → [Tournament] → Matches → [select a match]
Direct path: projects/[id]/tournaments/[tournamentId]/matches/[matchId]
Tournament-wide pause, resume, and delay controls live in Live Operations:
Projects → [Project] → [Tournament] → Live → Control Room
Direct path: projects/[id]/tournaments/[tournamentId]/live/control-room
Step by step
Report or correct a score
Use this to record a match result, or to correct one that was reported incorrectly — for example, because one side forfeited or failed to appear.
- Open the match from the Matches list.
- Click Report Score.
- Enter the score for each game. Best-of matches show one row per game.
- Optionally add a proof URL and notes.
- Submit. The bracket updates once the result is recorded.
Start a match manually
If a match needs to be moved out of a pending state:
- Open the match from the Matches list.
- Click Start Match. This action is only available while the match is still pending.
Submit a dispute
If a participant disagrees with a result, or an incident needs a formal ruling before the match can be finalized:
- Open the match from the Matches list.
- Click Submit Dispute.
- Describe the issue and submit.
- The match is flagged for review. See Officiating and disputes for how disputes are resolved.
Re-run a map veto
- Open the match from the Matches list.
- Click Map Veto to open the match's veto flow.
Pause or resume the tournament
There is no per-match pause, resume, or cancel action. When a problem affects play broadly — a server outage, a venue issue — pause the tournament instead:
- Go to Live → Control Room.
- Click Pause, enter a reason, and confirm. All live matches are suspended and participants are notified.
- When the issue is resolved, click Resume and confirm.
- To push back upcoming start times without a full pause, use Delay Matches and choose a preset delay.
See Live operations overview for the rest of the Control Room toolset, including the issue queue and bracket repair wizard.
Roll back an intervention
If an intervention was applied by mistake, you can undo it from the tournament's audit trail.
- Go to Live → Audit.
- Find the entry for the intervention you want to reverse. Only entries logged as an applied intervention offer a rollback option — not every audit entry can be rolled back.
- Click Rollback.
- The action is reverted and the audit feed refreshes.
The Audit tab lists every action taken across the whole tournament, not a single match — use the actor, timestamp, and target details on each entry to find the right one.
What happens next
If you need a broader view of all interventions across the tournament, return to the Live Operations dashboard. See Live operations overview.
If the match is related to an open issue or report, link it in the issue queue. See Issue management.
If the situation involves a formal dispute or requires a referee ruling, see Officiating and disputes.
