Circuits and Seasons

Create a circuit to connect multiple tournaments into a ranked program, then organize them into seasons with standings, sponsors, and analytics.

A circuit links a series of tournaments together into a structured competitive program. Use circuits when your organization runs a ranked season, a points-based league, or any program where individual tournament results contribute to an overall standing. Seasons let you divide a circuit into distinct time periods, each with its own set of tournaments and standings.

A circuit has six areas, reached from the tab bar on its detail page: Overview, Standings, Tournaments, Seasons, Analytics, and Sponsors.

Step by step

1. Create a circuit

Click Create Circuit to open a multi-step wizard. You'll move through six steps before the circuit is created:

  1. Basic Info — the circuit name, an optional description, the discipline/game, the circuit type (for example seasonal or invitation-only), the competition format, and a tier.
  2. Schedule — a season identifier, start and end dates, an optional registration deadline, a maximum participant count, and whether the circuit is publicly visible.
  3. Scoring System — choose how points are awarded (placement-based, win/loss, proportional, or custom) and set the points structure per finishing position.
  4. Tiebreakers — select which rules break ties in the final standings (for example head-to-head or tournaments won).
  5. Qualification — set the requirements participants must meet to qualify, such as a minimum number of tournaments played, a minimum points total, or a top-N cutoff.
  6. Review & Create — review everything and click Create Circuit.

Once created, the circuit starts in Draft status — it is not yet visible or open for registration. Continue to the next step to publish it.

2. Publish and manage the circuit lifecycle

From the circuit's Overview tab, drive the circuit through its lifecycle:

  • Draft → click Publish to make the circuit visible.
  • Registration Open (or Registration Closing) → click Start Circuit to move it to Active once registration is handled.
  • Active → click Complete Circuit when the competition period is over.
  • At any point before completion, you can click Cancel Circuit to cancel it.

The Overview tab also shows headline stats (total tournaments, total participants, average participants per tournament, and participant growth) along with the competitive tiers (divisions) and geographic regions configured for the circuit.

3. Add seasons

  1. Navigate to Seasons within the circuit.
  2. Click Add Season and enter the season name, an optional description, the start and end dates, an optional registration deadline, and a maximum participant count.
  3. Save. Repeat for each season in the circuit.
  4. Each season also has its own Start Season and Complete Season actions, available from the seasons list — creating a season doesn't put it live on its own.

4. Link tournaments

  1. Navigate to Tournaments within the circuit.
  2. Click Link Tournament to open the link dialog. Search for a tournament that already exists in your project, optionally choose a season to assign it to from the season dropdown, and confirm to link it.
  3. Tournaments must already exist in the project before they can be linked here. See Create a tournament to set one up first.

5. Manage sponsors

  1. Navigate to Sponsors within the circuit.
  2. Add sponsors with a name, website link, logo, and a tier (platinum, gold, silver, or bronze) — the tier controls the badge shown on circuit-facing pages.
  3. Drag sponsors by their handle to reorder how they're displayed.
  4. Toggle sponsor analytics to see a breakdown of sponsor counts by tier.

6. View standings

  1. Navigate to Standings within the circuit.
  2. Standings are calculated automatically based on the results of associated tournaments.
  3. A qualification tracker shows the cutoff rank (based on the qualification rules set when the circuit was created) so you can see who's on pace to advance.
  4. Select a participant to view their rank history over time.

7. Review analytics

  1. Navigate to Analytics within the circuit — this is a separate page from Standings.
  2. Review participation and performance trend charts alongside the circuit's key stats to track how the circuit is developing over time.

With your circuit configured, published, and driven through its lifecycle, create the tournaments that feed into it.
